- Iditaread - The Race is On!
January 9, 2008
Students at Cypress Kids Club are already on the trail for the
Iditaread. The Iditaread is a reading program based on the
Alaskan sled dog race, the Iditarod. Students
participating in the Iditaread program read one page for every
mile that the mushers travel - that's 1,049 miles or 1,049
pages! The Iditarod officially begins March 1st, but
students get a head start. Already Walker H. has crossed
the finished has read over 1,072 pages since students began
counting on January 2 making him our first to cross the finish
line. We anticipate a few more students cross the finish
line in the next few weeks. More information on our
Iditarod activities, please visit the
Cypress Kids Club Iditarod page.
