Toddlers

Toddler time is one of the most wonderful ages of
a child's development. They experience the world in their own way
as they begin to walk, talk, and play alongside other toddlers.
They are eager to find new ways to bring excitement and interesting
things into their lives.
Our loving caregivers work diligently to make a smooth transition
from the infant room to the toddler room. They strive to build
confidence and self-esteem in their young students. Toddlers learn at such a rapid pace in developing language, autonomy, and motor
skills both large and small. The toddler room abounds with areas
that promote exploration and learning through play. Here also
reading plays a great part of the program. Research has proven that
children learn a great deal of incidental vocabulary by listening to
someone reading. At this age we help children to become themselves,
developing a sense of confidence and empowering them to develop
control of themselves. When children are allowed to do so a
foundation is established that will lead to a well-rounded child.
Working on the following skills promote toddlers with a rich
learning environment with age appropriate learning centers:
Sensory Experiences
Tasting, touching, smelling, hearing, seeing, exploring size,
shape, color, and textures.
Language Development
Verbal interaction with caregivers and other children,
language play, music, nursery rhymes, and reading.
Motor Development
Pushing, pulling, reaching, digging, tossing, walking,
climbing, and kicking.
Cognitive Development
Problem-solving, spatial awareness, object permanence,
classifying, and cause and effect experiences.
Personal Expression

dramatic play.
